VALE RAKU - Creazione artigianali in ceramica RakuCiao, io sono Valeria, in arte VALERAKU.
Il mio percorso da ceramista e la scelta di intraprendere un nuovo cammino comincia poco prima della nascita di mio figlio Sebastian e dell’adozione in canile del nostro amico Ralph.
Dopo avere studiato lingue ed avere lavorato per anni in un’azienda in ufficio commerciale, sono arrivata ad un bivio. Il lavoro non mi dava più soddisfazioni e da un momento all’altro mi sono ritrovata a pensare di rompere gli schemi e assecondare ciò che sentivo profondamente e non ciò che dovevo essere per conformità di un sistema che ci vuole piatti e stereotipati.
Ho ascoltato questo mio malessere interiore e ho deciso di licenziarmi, cominciando questo nuovo capitolo della mia vita.
A distanza di anni ho cercato la fusione con me stessa e con gli altri e il mondo circostante. Ho affondato le mie mani nella terra per sentire sensazioni ed emozioni . Poi ho voluto modellarla modellandomi, avvertendo quell’istinto primordiale che ti conduce dall’altra parte della riva. Sull’altra sponda, su quel faro in cima alla roccia. Perché è cosi che mi sono sentita: presa e rapita da quell’energia vitale che ha fatto muovere i passi successivi cadenzandoli fino a condurli in altri luoghi.
Fuori appunto dai luoghi comuni, dai preconcetti, dall’automatismo, dalla mancanza di stimoli e dalla convenzionalità. Non possiamo essere schiavi delle nostre scelte, perché saranno le vere scelte a liberarci e ad aiutarci a crescere.
Da quasi 10 anni progetto e realizzo complementi d’arredo e gioielli con l’antica cottura giapponese raku. In questa tecnica i 4 elementi terra aria fuoco e acqua interagiscono tra loro per creare effetti unici ed irripetibili.
Con il passare del tempo credo sempre più fermamente che non sia stata io ad andare incontro al raku, ma l’esatto contrario.

A new chapter…
Hi! I’m Valeria, also known as VALE RAKU.
I choose to be a ceramist a little before the birth of my son, Sebastian, and before adopting Ralph, our friendly dog.
After studying languages and working for several years as seller in a company, I felt like I was at a crossroads: my work wasn’t that satisfying anymore and I suddenly thought about breaking the schemes and simply be myself, deeply, unconventional.
So I decided to resign to start a new way, a new “chapter”.
During the years I looked for a fusion between myself, the others and the World.
I dipped my hands in the ground to feel sensations and emotions, then I tried to shape it and shape myself, feeling a sensation leading me to the other side of the river.
That’s what I felt like: caught and captured by a vital energy, helping me to move my steps and taking me somewhere else.
This brand new energy took me out of clichés and platitudes, out of the conventionality and the lack of stimulations.
We can’t be slaves of our choices, because they are the reason why we’re free.
It’s been almost ten years since I’m designing and realising furnishing with the ancient Raku japanese technique. The four elements of life, earth, air, fire and water, work together to realize unique and irripetible effects.
While time passing by I still believe it wasn’t me searching for Raku, it’s Raku that have found me.
